J&M Recommends: February 2018

J&M Recommends is a monthly deep dive into what our team is currently digging. Filled with creative inspiration, mindless entertainment, and everything in between, there's a little something for everyone. This month's recommendations come from Project Manager Matt Lourie.

The Empress Has No Clothes

This memoir chronicles Joyce Roché's journey as the daughter of a blue-collar worker in Texas, to becoming the first African American VP at Avon. She writes about "Imposter Syndrome," the unexplainable fear of [career] failure. Great read for career changers, career growers, and career reflection.

A fun, simple puzzle game that's great for wasting time. There are literally thousands of levels, so you'll never run out. Perfect for your commute, or anytime you need a mindless activity!

Google and Apple maps don't always cut it, especially when you spend a lot of time traveling. Waze is crowd-sourced, so it features real-time data — which means it's perfect for when traffic changes in the blink of an eye. And it's fun! You can now record your own voice to speak your directions.

Matt Lourie is the James & Matthew Project Manager. As one of the newest Dodos on the team, he started his J&M journey in 2017. Originally from Cape Elizabeth, ME, he now lives in Brooklyn, NY in order to satiate his constant need for $1 pizza, Broadway, and Central Park.
